Top mistakes to avoid during a job search (in the IT world) -
1. No matter how hot the job market is, given AT LEAST 2 months to get the job of your choice.
2. Job sites (naukri) are HOT - make sure your cell phone is charged before you post on these sites, because you will start recieving calls pretty soon!
3. HIGHLIGHT the key words in your resume.
4. Use your network to apply to companies you are targetting. That way, you have an insider working for you. And anyway, most positions are never advertised.
5. When you are made aware of a position in your company, keep writing to people offering them a job. If they join, you are likely to get referral bonus. If they don't join, touching base with them helps renew your contact.
